South East Queensland Storms

Storm Chase 18th October, 2004

The night before had some rain around Se Qld which helped add to the amount of moisture already available for this day. There was an upper trough, surface trough, cold mid/upper level temps and shear to play with so it was just a matter of not if but when things would fire. I headed out with Jeff towards Ipswich area and we intercepted a bit of a small storm around Wivenhoe Dam which had some nice cg's and then an awesome rainbow on the backend of the storm. We headed off towards Dalby in chase of a massive supercell travelling through the area however we couldn't reach the area in time and it weakened. We still received a very nice light show there during thr night though.
